KEY FEATURES

Geometry sets the protection

The more even the covering face, the better it blocks heat and particles.

AlN Heater Cross-Section

Thickness and joint geometry set the sealing and shielding performance.

01

High-temperature protection

Thermal Protection

It covers the hot zone and stops heat spreading to surrounding parts.

02

Sealing geometry

Sealing Geometry

The joint dimensions have to match or gas and particles leak through the gap.

03

Machining accuracy

Forming Accuracy

Drawing and machining produce the geometry accurately even in thin sections.

Melting points by material

Tungsten (W)3422
Molybdenum (Mo)2623
Nickel alloy1400

Melting point °C. The higher the figure, the closer to the hot zone it can be used.

Why thickness

Thicker blocks better but is heavy and traps heat. It is set in light of the conditions.

Repeated use

Through repeated heating and cooling, cracks start at the corners. Stress is relieved before forming.

DESIGN PRECISION

Geometry set to the application

In a cap, geometry and thickness are what distinguish the product.

Product cross-section

In the same cap, changing the thickness and the joint changes the protection it gives.

Drawingbasis

Machined geometry

Bore and depth are set to the dimensions of the part being covered.

Thicknessspecified

Level of protection

Thickness is set in light of the heat and particle conditions.

W · Mochoice

Material selection

Tungsten where the highest temperature is needed, molybdenum where formability is.

We do not pick a specification, we develop it with you. (Give us the part to be covered and the service temperature, and we will work out the geometry with you.)

LEAD TIME

Fabrication and Lead Time

This product is made to your drawing. Here is the process, step by step.

STEP 01

Drawing received

Send us the material, outside and inside diameter, thickness and sealing face requirements.

Reply within 1 day

STEP 02

Specification review

We review thickness, tolerances and surface finish and propose a machining method.

2 – 4 days

STEP 03

Forming · machining

The geometry is produced by turning or deep drawing, and slots and holes machined.

By agreement, depending on the production schedule

STEP 04

Inspection · delivery

Dimensions and surface condition are measured, and the part ships with a test report. Repeat orders to the same drawing skip the review stage.

By agreement, depending on the production schedule

Minimum quantity

From small quantities

Varies with dimensions and geometry.

Standard lead time

About 2 – 3 weeks

From drawing approval. Deep-drawn geometries add a tooling review.

Supplied with it

Test report

Dimensional measurements are sent with the delivery.

HANDLING

Handling precautions

These apply to refractory metals in general. Service life depends heavily on how the parts are handled.

01

01

Do not touch the parts with bare hands after unpacking. Oil from fingerprints carbonizes at high temperature and becomes a contaminant.

02

02

The material is weak against impact and bending. Tungsten is brittle at room temperature and can crack if dropped.

03

03

Do not heat above 500°C in air; oxidation accelerates sharply. Always use the parts in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere.

04

04

Avoid rapid heating and cooling. On first use, we recommend pre-heating (aging) at low current.

05

05

Store indoors in a dry place and keep the moisture-barrier packaging intact.

If your installation or operating conditions are unusual, our engineers will review them in advance. Send a drawing or your process conditions and we will start by selecting the right material with you.
