Form, resistance and terminal positions are set by the furnace specification. Tell us the drawing or the service conditions and we will confirm and reply.

KEY FEATURES
The cross-section sets the furnace temperature
At the same power, a different cross-section gives a different temperature.
Cross-sectional area and developed length set the resistance, and the resistance sets the furnace temperature.
High-temperature use
High Temperature Use
Tungsten for the highest temperature range, molybdenum for the mid-to-high range.
Resistance design
Resistance Design
We work back from the supply voltage and target temperature to the cross-section and length.
Thermal cycling durability
Thermal Cycling
Support spacing is set so that deformation and sagging stay small through repeated heating and cooling.
Melting points by material
Melting point °C. The material is chosen to the service temperature range.
Why support matters
Sagging under its own weight at high temperature causes a short circuit. Support spacing is designed alongside.
Consumables
A heating element is a consumable. The cross-section is set again in light of the replacement interval.

DESIGN PRECISION
Resistance set to the furnace
In a heating element, cross-section and length are what distinguish the product.
In the same form, changing the cross-section and length changes the resistance and the furnace temperature.
Cross-section design
Worked back from the power supply specification and the target temperature.
Form
Chosen to the furnace structure and the mounting method.
Sag control
Support spacing is set in light of high-temperature sagging.
We do not pick a specification, we develop it with you. (Give us the furnace dimensions and the power supply specification, and we will work out the resistance with you.)

LEAD TIME
Fabrication and Lead Time
This product is made to your drawing. Here is the process, step by step.
STEP 01
Requirements received
Send us the service temperature, rated power and voltage, installation space and terminal positions.
Reply within 1 daySTEP 02
Design review
We propose the width, thickness and geometry to meet the resistance and review the heating distribution.
3 – 5 daysSTEP 03
Forming · machining
Plate, rod or ribbon is formed to the required geometry and the terminal section reinforced.
By agreement, depending on the production scheduleSTEP 04
Inspection · delivery
Resistance and dimensions are measured, and the part ships with a test report. Repeat orders to the same drawing skip the review stage.
By agreement, depending on the production scheduleMinimum quantity
From small quantities
Varies with geometry and resistance.
Standard lead time
About 3 – 4 weeks
From drawing approval. Complex geometries add process stages.
Supplied with it

HANDLING
Handling precautions
These apply to refractory metals in general. Service life depends heavily on how the parts are handled.
01
01
Do not touch the parts with bare hands after unpacking. Oil from fingerprints carbonizes at high temperature and becomes a contaminant.
02
02
The material is weak against impact and bending. Tungsten is brittle at room temperature and can crack if dropped.
03
03
Do not heat above 500°C in air; oxidation accelerates sharply. Always use the parts in a vacuum or an inert atmosphere.
04
04
Avoid rapid heating and cooling. On first use, we recommend pre-heating (aging) at low current.
05
05
Store indoors in a dry place and keep the moisture-barrier packaging intact.
If your installation or operating conditions are unusual, our engineers will review them in advance. Send a drawing or your process conditions and we will start by selecting the right material with you.
