Materials overview
Its melting point is the highest after tungsten, and it does not lose ductility at high temperature. It is the core material in W-Re thermocouples and electron beam filaments.
With a melting point of 3,186℃ it comes after tungsten. Its strength does not fall at high temperature and recrystallization embrittlement is limited.
Added to tungsten or molybdenum it greatly improves their machinability and ductility, which makes it a material for W-Re thermocouples and rocket nozzles.
Key Property Values
These are the values engineers check first at the design stage. Actual delivery specifications follow the per-lot test report.

Key Advantages
How these figures translate into advantages in actual processes.
Strength retained at ultra-high temperature
A melting point of 3,186℃ and excellent high-temperature creep resistance make it suitable for rocket nozzles and thrust chambers.
An addition that improves ductility
A small amount in W or Mo reduces recrystallization embrittlement and improves machinability.
Thermocouple stability
The W-Re combination reads temperature reliably up to 2,300℃.
